Rack for assortment boxes

I like to use assortment boxes to get order in the components. Since there is a special price hardware store in our town, I also like to use their assortment boxes. They stack well on top of each other, but it’s tedious to lift them all up when you want to get to one of the lower boxes. That’s why I thought about building a rack where I can pull out the individual boxes like drawers. My rack holds 10 assortment boxes and on top I still have a small shelf.

The individual boxes run on 12 x 12 mm squared lumber, and I rounded off all the ends well so that nothing gets jammed when I put them in place.

The list of materials:

Quantity Size Description
2 200 x 304 x 12 mm Bottom and lid
2 200 x 450 x 10 mm Side parts
1 200 x 324 x 3 mm Back wall
20 180 x 12 x 12 mm Ledges for the drawers

The distance to the floor for the first bar is 24 mm. Later, when everything is assembled, it is only 12 mm. The distance to the next bar is 40 mm. Measured in each case at the bottom of the bar. At the tenth bar, there is still 30 mm to the lid, so there is still room for a shelf. The strip should be placed reasonably centrally, although the exact measurement is not important.

I have used white plywood and then still provided with Umleimer. The back panel is nailed on and gives the whole thing stability. Still a few rubber feet glued on so that the underside is not scratched.{:}{:}{:en}I like to use assortment boxes to get order in the components.
